Legendary actor Denzel Joins Ministery

Denzel Washington, the legendary actor and two-time Oscar winner, has embraced a new chapter in his life. At 69, he was baptized and licensed as a minister at Kelly Temple Church of God in Christ in New York City. The ceremony, broadcast on Facebook, marked a deeply spiritual moment in Washington’s journey.

Reflecting on his path, Washington shared a prophecy given to him at 20 that predicted he would “travel the world and preach to millions.” Nearly 50 years later, that prophecy is coming true. “It took a while, but I’m here,” Washington said during the heartfelt ceremony. This milestone coincides with a busy time for Washington. He recently wrapped up promotions for Gladiator II and will star in the Broadway revival of Othello in 2025.
