Victoria Monét’s New “Alright” Music Video:

Celebrating Y2K Icons in Dave Meyers-Directed “Alright” Visual, Victoria Monét Brings The Heat!

Victoria Monét has released the long-awaited music video for her Kaytranada-produced single “Alright,” directed by Dave Meyers and choreographed by Sean Bankhead. In this visual, Victoria Monét pays tribute to Y2K pop and R&B icons such as Missy Elliott, Janet Jackson, and Britney Spears while exploring her unique artistic lane.

The video showcases Monét in various iconic looks, from Spears-inspired blonde hair and a white tube top outfit to a “Smooth Criminal”-esque pantsuit, embodying the essence of liberation and fluidity. “Alright is about liberation and freedom at its core,” Monét shared, emphasizing the freedom of movement and the blend of masculine and feminine energy throughout the video.

Monét praised the passionate collaboration with Meyers and Bankhead, highlighting the meticulous teamwork that brought the visual to life. “EVERY single person who had their hands on this visual was extremely passionate from inception,” she said. The release during Pride Month, Black Music Month, and the start of summer adds to its significance, and Monét looks forward to seeing how dance artists and ballroom culture embrace the video.

Following the video’s release, Sean Bankhead expressed his gratitude to Victoria Monét on social media, acknowledging her support and collaborative spirit. The “Alright” visual marks Monét’s first new music video since her Grammy wins in 2024, setting the stage for another exciting chapter in her career.
