Tyler Perry’s “She the People” Brings Political Comedy to Netflix

Tyler Perry returns to Netflix with a sharp new sitcom that blends politics, power, and family dynamics.

 

Tyler Perry is back with a new original sitcom She the People, dropping on Netflix in two parts. The first eight episodes premiere May 22, with the second batch arriving August 14. The comedy dives into the chaos and charm of politics as Terri J. Vaughn stars as Antoinette Dunkerson, a newly elected Lieutenant Governor navigating a sexist political environment and the chaos of her now-public family life.

Alongside Vaughn, the cast features Jade Novah, Drew Olivia Tillman, Tré Boyd, Dyon Brooks, and Jo Marie Payton. The series was co-created by Perry and Niya Palmer, with executive production from Perry, Palmer, Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Vaughn. Angi Bones and Tony Strickland also produce under the Tyler Perry Studios banner.
