New Crime Drama Starring Taron Egerton and Jurnee Smollett

Apple TV+ drops the chilling first trailer for its new limited series, Smoke, arriving June 27.

Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming crime drama series Smoke, set to premiere globally on June 27, 2025. The nine-episode limited series reunites Black Bird collaborators Taron Egerton and creator Dennis Lehane, promising a gripping narrative inspired by true events.

Egerton stars as Dave Gudsen, a seasoned arson investigator who teams up with detective Michelle Calderone, portrayed by Emmy nominee Jurnee Smollett. Together, they pursue a pair of serial arsonists wreaking havoc across the Pacific Northwest. The ensemble cast also features John Leguizamo, Greg Kinnear, Rafe Spall, and Anna Chlumsky.

Smoke is inspired by the acclaimed podcast Firebug, which delves into the real-life investigations of arsonist John Leonard Orr. The series is produced by Apple Studios, with direction from Kari Skogland, Joe Chappelle, and Jim McKay. Following its two-episode premiere, new episodes will release weekly through August 15, 2025.
