AO Network: Hello, please tell our audience who you are and what you do in the Music/Entertainment industry?

MOUFPECE DA RIPPA: I am a hip-hop recording artist based out of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma representing Down-To-Earth music group.

 You just released your latest song, ‘Girl Dad.’ Please tell us what it was like making that video and how has fatherhood shaped you into being a better man and father to your daughter?

MOUFPECE DA RIPPA: I always had a niche for cinematography, so this video gave me an opportunity to get into my director bag. So, crafting this video was similar to me crafting my perception of what fatherhood means to me. Fatherhood to me is being a provider, the teacher, and a leader. Fatherhood has definitely made me selfless in place of who I once was, a selfish person. Being a father, especially a black father, made me hold a mirror up to who I am because who I am is what my daughter sees, and I have to be conscious of that.

Who is Moufpece Da Rippa? What do you represent as an artist and how can you relate to the everyday black man?

MOUFPECE DA RIPPA: MOUFPECE DA RIPPA is a hustler. Not in the sense of trappin, but in the sense of taking care of business by any means necessary. I did it all, so I ain’t too proud to get it out the mud. I stand on that business; I really believe in the “Get Rich or Die Tryin” sentiment. Even though there are more opportunities for black men nowadays, we still have the same adversities, so we all got to go out there and get it in our own lanes. I feel like our struggle is one in the same.

What inspires you to continue your music career? What are your long-term goals when it comes to your artistry?

MOUFPECE DA RIPPA: My inspiration is creating something we lack in my family tree, longevity and generational wealth. I can’t rest easy, knowing that any day I could die and not be able to leave behind what I see as necessary to survive for generations to come. So that is my driving force, and until I accomplish that, giving up is not an option. I’d rather die than live on my knees. I sacrifice myself to take the necessary steps so my family can fly.

Tell us more about your sound, what kind of energy does your sound exude, what’s the main message you want your listeners to hear?

MOUFPECE DA RIPPA: My sound is a reflection of everyday life. My experiences growing up all the way into adulthood. The achievements as well as trials and tribulations. A Story of depth, death and dishonor, betrayal, love, infatuation, addiction, street politics, family, and black excellence. The examination of my triumphs in a sense of dissecting it. Weighing the pros and cons. Success as well as family values. My life is like a movie, so I tell it in rhythm.

MOUFPECE DA RIPPA: I’m working on two albums, two EPs, a short film along with more visuals to follow in addition to releasing more merchandise.
