Singer Cassie Ventura and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs have reached a settlement one day after Ventura accused him of rape and years of abuse in a federal lawsuit. In a statement, Combs expressed a desire to resolve the matter amicably, wishing Cassie and her family the best. Ventura, who previously dated Combs, filed the lawsuit alleging physical violence, control over her personal life, and coercion into a lifestyle of substance abuse. Details of the settlement were not disclosed, and Combs’ attorney emphasized that settling doesn’t imply admission of wrongdoing.
Ventura’s suit, filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, accused Combs of forcing her into a fast-paced, drug-fueled lifestyle and a sexual relationship. She claimed struggles with addiction fueled by Combs and alleged rape after attempting to end the relationship in 2018. Combs’ attorney denied the claims, accusing Ventura of seeking $30 million and attempting to silence her. Ventura’s lawyer commended her bravery for speaking out, stating that Combs tried to pay her off. The settlement comes amid detailed and graphic allegations, highlighting the complexities surrounding their relationship, which lasted from 2005 to 2019.
