Massachusetts native BIA and Dreamville’s JID illuminate the latest Bad Boys soundtrack with their new track “LIGHTS OUT.”
Massachusetts native BIA and Dreamville rapper JID have released their new song “LIGHTS OUT,” featured on the Bad Boys: Ride or Die soundtrack. BIA kicks off the StarGate-produced track with a soothing hook and a powerful verse about defying the odds, while JID reflects on his success with references to T.I.’s “Top Back.” The official music video showcases BIA as a beacon of light floating around the city, and JID rising from the underground to the top.
“LIGHTS OUT” is part of the 10-track Bad Boys: Ride or Die album, which also includes BIA’s track “OH NO,” featuring a sample of Red Rat’s “Tight Up Skirt.” The soundtrack features contributions from artists like Will Smith, Sean Paul, ScarLip, Black Eyed Peas, Becky G, El Alfa, Flo Milli, Shenseea, and Myke Towers. Released alongside the fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, the album is now available.
BIA’s new release follows her recent diss track aimed at Cardi B. On “SUE MEEE?” BIA responded to accusations from Cardi, using a screenshot of Offset’s Instagram Story as the cover art. The diss track, which addresses rumors about Cardi’s infidelity, was debuted on Instagram Live after Cardi mentioned BIA in the “Wanna Be Remix” by GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion.
